As Regional Vice President, Business Development, based out of your home office in the West Coast region of the US, you will focus on increasing penetration of our products and services within your assigned territory. Your familiarity with this region gives you the advantage of knowing which companies to target and the insight needed to develop a strong pipeline of clients. The experience you have with new business development will be crucial to your success in researching new leads, connecting with senior executives, selling the value of our products and services, and ultimately driving up our revenue with the addition of new accounts. Characteristics of the Successful Regional Vice President:
Success in working with, mentoring and managing direct sales personnel. RVP will directly manage Sales Managers and Sales Reps. The ability to build effective relationships, influence people, lead by example, is essential.
Success in working with and managing Strategic Partnerships is essential for desired growth goals. The RVP will provide the leadership and drive for the front end of the business and share in the responsibility, along with the rest of the executive team, for the effective execution of the strategic plan. One must have a confident leadership style, solid communication skills, and organizational savvy to engage and lead at all levels of the business, without involving ego.
The successful individual will be one that sees the big picture—one who enjoys the role of advancing, driving results, while making sure processes & systems continue to be streamlined. This requires a style that can communicate effectively from the President/CEO to vendors and customers.
Must have exposure and involvement with building teams and linking those teams to company objectives. Involvement with real estate acquisition and/or loan origination would be valuable experience. The person will possess an appreciation for the multi-functional linkages between sales, marketing, operations, and finance and an awareness of how to effectively leverage these to benefit the business. Must be technically knowledgeable and systemic in their orientation, with strong problem-solving and planning skills.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement long-range sales and marketing strategies to create diversification and revenue growth; develop, implement, and execute to market moving forward.
2. Participate as a member of the company’s executive staff developing strategic plans; preparing for and participating in board meetings. This includes participating in the company’s budget preparation and strategic planning processes.
3. Develop, train and mentor sales personnel and help assess overall company performance. Establish appropriate expectations and performance metrics and support for direct team members as well as key constituents involved in the complete channel for company (Vendors and reps) and provide feedback.
4. Manage sales, sales promotion, marketing and advertising functions including customer development, product pricing, sales budget and quota preparation, forecasting, production and delivery coordination, and related activities.
5. Analyze business performance and identify, recommend, and implement approved sales and marketing strategies that increase the company’s competitive edge, expand its market base, and increase sales.
6. Serve as a key company liaison with all customers, business partners, and prospects to demonstrate company and personal commitments to quality products and extraordinary service.
7. Communicate regularly with customers to build rapport, resolve differences, expand sales potential, and increase the company’s knowledge of its markets.
8. Analyze and recommend improvements to company operations and business systems to improve sales and marketing efforts and company profitability.
9. Provide insights into customer, market, and competitive dynamics to assist in the strategic positioning of company in the marketplace.
10. Along with the other members of the Executive Team, serves as a confidant to and supporter of the President/CEO.
